Brevity is the soul of wit

In Hamlet, William Shakespeare claimed that “brevity is the soul of wit.” Okay, there was a bit more to it than that, but… well, y’know.

I’m a sociology nerd, which led me to develop an appreciation for statistics, and by extension, math equations. This one is much sweeter than most I’ve encountered, and reminds me a bit of Craig Damrauer’s clever “new math” series (including “Modern Art” over at the wonderful 20×200).

As much as I like Missed Connections to give contextual clues, or perhaps a clever turn of phrase, sometimes a brief message is enjoyable too. “Short and sweet” – a cliché, for sure, but occasionally true.
